Inter/Intra District Transfers
Students currently on an intra that are remaining at the same school next year do not need to reapply. Students currently on an intra that are moving from elem to middle school must complete a new intra if they want to go to a middle school that is not their school of residence.
Students currently on an inter that are remaining at the same school next year do not need to reapply. Students currently on an inter that are moving from elem to middle need to check with their district of residence to find out if that district requires a new one. The new law states that it is no longer necessary to fill out an inter if a student is going to the feeder middle school, but some districts (Cajon Valley for example) are still requiring inters when moving from elem to middle.
Special day students moving from elem to middle must complete an intra if they wish to attend a school other than their home school. Also, special day students currently on inters must complete a new inter when moving from elem to middle regardless if it is the feeder school or not.
TDAP Booster Shots
Whooping cough (pertusis) has been widespread in California. The California Depart of Public Health recommends all Californians 10 year of age and older receive a booster shot (also known as TDAP) against pertussis. Moreover, Assembly Bill 354 requires students be immunized against pertussis.
For the 2013-2014 school year, all students entering grades 7 through 12 will need proof of a TDAP booster shot before starting school. This means your student will not be allowed to start school if he/she hasn't received the shot. Getting a booster shot now will protect your child against the ongoing threat of pertussis and meet the new school requirement.
Doctor and Dentist Appointments
Please bring a verification of any doctor or dentist appointment to the office. The absence created by the appointment will be changed from an unexcused absence to an excused absence.
