Dear Rolando Families,
I would like to extend a warm welcome to our returning and new families, and share with you how much the entire staff and I look forward to the 2012-2013 school year! I am honored to be serving our community as the principal of Rolando Elementary. Our school has an excellent reputation for high student achievement, dedicated teachers, and parent involvement. I look forward to working together to continue proud traditions, add to our family events, and continue to increase student achievement through meaningful engagement in the classroom.
I believe that educating a child is truly a partnership. The teachers, staff and I are dedicated to creating a rewarding educational program, and we depend on the support and partnerships with our families to make sure our children reach their potential. Volunteers are always welcome at Rolando and there are many ways to get involved. Communicating with your child’s teacher on a regular basis, supporting classroom expectations at home, reading to or with your child at home, helping in the classroom or on campus, joining the PTA, helping with special events, and simply participating are many ways in which you can be an active parent. Whatever you are able to contribute, whether it is time, supply donations, or support, your involvement and support is important to our success.
The mission of Rolando Elementary School is to build a strong academic foundation by providing an instructional program emphasizing high standards of achievement. We are also a PeaceBuilder school. That means we work together to create a school climate that is peaceful, productive, and safe. We use the PeaceBuilder Circle and Pledge to focus on positive and improved behavior and attitudes every day.
I look forward to meeting each and every child and family at Rolando. I am confident that through our partnership, this will be a positively memorable year for all our Roadrunners!
Respectfully Yours,
Mrs. Scheftner, Principal
