Welcome

Parkway Sports & Health Science Academy

Hello Parkway Community!

It is going to be another fantastic year at Parkway!!!

We are very excited to welcome back 6th grade students to Parkway. Bringing 6th graders on campus will allow us more time to build community and thoroughly prepare them for high school. 6th grade students will experience a trimester wheel elective program connected to the sports and health science focus. They will also have a hybrid-block schedule. However, to promote stability and student wellness, 6th grade students will only move between two teachers.

Be sure to come to the 6th Grade Orientation on Wednesday, August 9th at 10:00 am!!!

If you have any questions about 6th Grade – Give us a call or send us an email.

In 7th and 8th grade we will continue to offer academically rigorous, traditional curriculum in Language Arts, Math, History, Science and PE. However, this year we will continue building an expansive selection of elective courses focused on health, science and sports – and each student will get two elective classes.

One of the most exciting aspects of these changes is the connection we are building with the Grossmont Unified High School District and the robust Career and Technical Education Pathways that are offered at the various high schools in our community. We aim to create direct links to innovative courses offered at the high schools and allow Parkway students to explore the diversity of future opportunities at colleges and in careers to engage them in deeper learning and the development of relevant skills.

We have created a few videos highlighting several of the elective courses we will begin offering during the 2023-24 school year! Each of these courses has a direct link to CTE Pathways offered at the high schools in our community.

Please check out the video below for more details!
