  • Ebola Virus 
    The District shares your concerns regarding the Ebola virus. We have been in contact with the San Diego County Health Department and the San Diego County Office of Education regarding these concerns and have requested these agencies coordinate protocols and recommendations for schools to implement to ensure the safety of all students and staff.

    At this time, there are no confirmed cases of Ebola in San Diego County, and the Deputy Public Health Officer for the County of San Diego Dr. Eric McDonald has been very reassuring that at present we have nothing to worry about in the way of Ebola in San Diego. A recent report of a suspected case in Chula Vista proved to be without merit.

    We know that Ebola is not spread through the air, water, or food. It is only spread through direct contact with blood and body fluids of a person who is sick and exhibiting symptoms of Ebola.

    At this time, we are awaiting the protocols/recommendations from the San Diego County Health Department. All protocols/ recommendations will be implemented as we receive them, and we will share this information with our parents and staff.

    The final count was done Fri. Oct. 3rd and MUM PTA is BEYOND excited to announce that we ended up OVER our goal of 480 PTA members ... we have 492 MUM PTA members!!!

    For perspective, we had 490 PTA members at the end of the year in 2013-2014! It's only October, and we already have 492 PTA members for 2014-2015!!

    Official classrooms and school-wide winnings will be announced on Mon., Oct. 20th at Peace Corral.

    PLUS - we have 100% Principal Miller and Teacher Participation!!!

    PLUS, PLUS - we have numerous Business Partnerships (more than ever before)!!!

    A HUGE thank you to our AMAZING PTA Membership team: Mrs. Irena Vujevic, Mrs. Erica Empson, Mrs. Tara Krone, and Ms. April Zay!!

    Also, thank you to all who joined our MUM PTA this year to make our school and PTA exceptional (continuing our tradition of excellence by doing what's best/right for our scholars). We couldn't do it without you!

    Every Friday show your Murray Manor spirit by wearing our colors (blue/orange) or wear your Spirit Wear , unless it's one of our themed Spirit Days (e.g., Charger Day, Crazy Hair Day, Pajama Day, etc.). Student Council will notify our community of the specific dates for themed Spirit Days.

    All parents, volunteers, visitors must always check in/out at the front office, wear a visitor/volunteer badge, and sign in/out. Our staff highly values maximizing time on task in our learning environments, therefore please plan accordingly for pick up at dismissal. To protect instructional minutes and limit disruptions, plan on coming onto campus at 2:50 pm dismissal (Tuesdays at 1:35 pm). If any sooner, everyone must wait in the front grassy area, away from classrooms, until the dismissal bells rings. Additionally, students are not to enter/exit school grounds through the staff parking lot. Students may exit campus on the sidewalk in front of the school office and the sidewalk near the lunch area. During school hours, campus fences will be secured, and the only entrance onto campus is at the front of the school to check in/out at the front office. Thank you for your support and understanding with ensuring our scholars are safe.

  • A highly appreciative THANK YOU to Mrs. Stacy Evans for volunteering to make our new "Drop Off/Pick Up Only" signs for our amazing Safety Patrol. Our Safety Patrol scholars work hard at keeping our school pedestrians safe when crossing the crosswalks/street. We appreciate your support, patience, and mindfulness when it comes to traffic/parking before and after school at drop off and pick up. Thank you for doing your part at keeping our school safe and always doing what's best/right for our MUM scholars/staff.

    WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students/Scholars) ... Calling all dads and/or parents to get involved when you can. Contact our Watch D.O.G.S. Coordinator, Mr. Shane Steinfeld, at mumwatchdogs@yahoo.com for more information, fingerprinting clearance, submitting your availability dates, and schedules. Thank you in advance for being involved and contributing to our school safety.
    A highly appreciative THANK YOU goes out to our WATCH D.O.G.S. Coordinator, Mr. Shane Steinfeld, Mr. Ken Watson, our WATCH D.O.G.S. Co Coordinator, and Officer Hinton, our LMPD School Resource Officer, for your presentations, time, energy, and effort to make our Watch D.O.G.S. Pizza Kick Off Night (Wed. 9/17) a success! It was a wealth of information that was insightful, valuable, and something all MUM families should know. It Pays to Be Aware!

    Two primary goals of our WATCH D.O.G.S program:
    1) To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.
    2) To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important (anyone can join, not limited to only father figures).

    How to join WATCH D.O.G.S:
    1. Fill out/submit school volunteer form (located in front office).
    2. Go get your fingerprints clearance: A) Get LMSV fingerprinting form B) Have valid photo identification C) Get fingerprinted D) Once fingerprints are on file with District Office, the fingerprinting clearance if valid for all the years a volunteer remains in the LMSVSD E) Fingerprinting info is all provided in the front office
    3. Schedule days/time frame (your availability) you can volunteer as a WATCH D.O.G. by signing up on our online calendar

    All LMSV classes are air conditioned. Normal Tues. schedule (Tues. dismissal is at 1:35 pm). Precautions for recess lunch and PE will be in place. Send scholars to school with water bottles to stay hydrated. See you at school!

  • Run 4 Fun 21st Century Style
    MuM scholars and families, join us for Run 4 Fun every morning from 8:00-8:25 am on the lower field. As 21st Century scholars, we know it's important to physically get moving, which in turn, helps us focus and concentrate even more during the school day. Our goal is for scholars to reach 100 miles individually and 8,500 miles school-wide by the end of the school year! Let's reach for the stars and mileage will be kept track of as we travel the solar system! Go Mustangs!!
