  • Ebola Virus 
     
    The District shares your concerns regarding the Ebola virus. We have been in contact with the San Diego County Health Department and the San Diego County Office of Education regarding these concerns and have requested these agencies coordinate protocols and recommendations for schools to implement to ensure the safety of all students and staff.

    At this time, there are no confirmed cases of Ebola in San Diego County, and the Deputy Public Health Officer for the County of San Diego Dr. Eric McDonald has been very reassuring that at present we have nothing to worry about in the way of Ebola in San Diego. A recent report of a suspected case in Chula Vista proved to be without merit.

    We know that Ebola is not spread through the air, water, or food. It is only spread through direct contact with blood and body fluids of a person who is sick and exhibiting symptoms of Ebola.

    At this time, we are awaiting the protocols/recommendations from the San Diego County Health Department. All protocols/ recommendations will be implemented as we receive them, and we will share this information with our parents and staff.

  • PTA MEMBERSHIP COMPETITION DRIVE UPDATE:

    The final count was done Fri. Oct. 3rd and MUM PTA is BEYOND excited to announce that we ended up OVER our goal of 480 PTA members ... we have 492 MUM PTA members!!!

    For perspective, we had 490 PTA members at the end of the year in 2013-2014! It's only October, and we already have 492 PTA members for 2014-2015!!

    Official classrooms and school-wide winnings will be announced on Mon., Oct. 20th at Peace Corral.

    PLUS - we have 100% Principal Miller and Teacher Participation!!!

    PLUS, PLUS - we have numerous Business Partnerships (more than ever before)!!!

    A HUGE thank you to our AMAZING PTA Membership team: Mrs. Irena Vujevic, Mrs. Erica Empson, Mrs. Tara Krone, and Ms. April Zay!!

    Also, thank you to all who joined our MUM PTA this year to make our school and PTA exceptional (continuing our tradition of excellence by doing what's best/right for our scholars). We couldn't do it without you!

    School begins promptly at 8:30 am
    (bell rings at 8:25 am to get to Peace Corral or classrooms)
    School dismisses Mon., Wed., Thurs., Fri. at 2:50 pm
    Tuesday dismissal is at 1:35 pm

    Our District email has changed this summer from GroupWise (Novell) to Gmail. With our new system in place, you may contact staff members via email as follows: first name.last name@lmsvsd.net (for example to email our Office Manager: kathy.urich@lmsvsd.net).
      
    FRIDAY MUM SPIRIT DAYS
     
    Every Friday show your Murray Manor spirit by wearing our colors (blue/orange) or wear your Spirit Wear , unless it's one of our themed Spirit Days (e.g., Charger Day, Crazy Hair Day, Pajama Day, etc.). Student Council will notify our community of the specific dates for themed Spirit Days.

    CAMPUS SECURITY
     
    All parents, volunteers, visitors must always check in/out at the front office, wear a visitor/volunteer badge, and sign in/out. Our staff highly values maximizing time on task in our learning environments, therefore please plan accordingly for pick up at dismissal. To protect instructional minutes and limit disruptions, plan on coming onto campus at 2:50 pm dismissal (Tuesdays at 1:35 pm). If any sooner, everyone must wait in the front grassy area, away from classrooms, until the dismissal bells rings. Additionally, students are not to enter/exit school grounds through the staff parking lot. Students may exit campus on the sidewalk in front of the school office and the sidewalk near the lunch area. During school hours, campus fences will be secured, and the only entrance onto campus is at the front of the school to check in/out at the front office. Thank you for your support and understanding with ensuring our scholars are safe.
