General association meetings are held throughout the year, typically during scheduled events at school, to provide the general membership the opportunity to vote on PTA administration and budget issues. PTA-Sponsored Programs:
Bike Rodeo: Bicycle safety event for all 3rd–5th grade students. Students complete a series of bicycle tests on a course. 4th and 5th grade students are scored. This event is co-sponsored by the PTA, La Mesa Police Department, and AAA.
Red Ribbon Week: This is a week of activities in October, focusing on a drug-free theme. Students participate in a school wide project and a run/walk with a community luncheon at the end of the week.
Fall Festival: Game booths, food & crafters! This Saturday event is for the entire family, and is one of the biggest PTA/School events of the year.
Reflections: This is a National PTA program to encourage the arts in our schools. Students submit their entries in one four categories. Sixteen finalists are chosen from the school. Scholarships are awarded for those who place at the State and National Level.
Family Craft Night: This is a fun night out for the whole family. Everyone has the option of making holiday crafts and gifts.
Book Fair: Scholastic books are available for purchase to families and students during the weeklong Book Fair. All proceeds directly benefit our school library.
Spring Event: An afternoon of entertainment, music, dancing, games, food and fun. This is a great afternoon out for the family!
Art Docent Program: This program helps to provide students with art enrichment. Utilizing a lesson plan, the art docents present the lesson and help students complete an art project.
Jog-A-Thon: This is a weekend event which is held on our 1/6 mile track. A D.J. is there to make the event fun and keep us rockin’ and rollin’. Food is available as well at this healthy, fun-filled event.
Assemblies & Field Trips: Money raised from PTA fundraisers pay for the assemblies and goes towards transportation for field trips during the year.
Year Book: The PTA produces a yearbook each year, available for a small fee that goes towards the cost of publishing the yearbook. Families and friends may purchase yearbook messages for $2, which also helps offset the publishing cost.
