Special Projects for the 2012-13 School Year

  • This year's reading challenge - The Million Kid March - has begun!  Our goal is to read over one million pages by the end of the school year.  We did it last year, and we'll do it again!  So, keep reading and be sure to keep track of the number of pages you've read.  Turn this into your teacher each week.  Ms. Fleming will be keeping track of all the classes, and there will be yummy incentives for the classes that have the highest number of pages.
  • The Great Dewey Challenge:  Last year less than 20 of our students participated in the Dewey Challenge.  This year our goal is to have many more of you participate.  Watch for more information about this fun program!
  • PTA-sponsored Screen-Free Week:  This project was so successful that we'll be participating again in the spring of next year.  During this week of NO TV and NO COMPUTER time, we had a great book exchange where all of you chose at least one book to take home, a fabulous family string game night, and a fun after-school origami workshop.
