  • Volunteer Celebration
    Thursday, May 23 (10:30-11:15am)
    Murdock teachers and staff greatly appreciate the volunteer support they receive from parents, grandparents, and other adults who donate their time and talent and resources. All volunteers are invited to a special volunteer celebration in the Murdock Auditorium. Please send in this RSVP form if you plan to attend. Thank you all Murdock volunteers for all you do!

  • Support Murdock Student Council's Sock Drive
    May 20-31
    Please bring new socks to the drop-off box in front of the school from May 20-31. The student council will be donating these new socks to families in need. All sizes accepted. Thank you for your support!

  • Bargain Prices on Books for Summer Reading!
    Murdock's Book Fair is May 29-31
    All books will be sold for 50% off list price in Room B-3! Just in time to stock up for summer reading! Book fair hours are 7:30-8:30am and 3:00-6:00pm on May 29 and 31. Book fair hours on May 30 are 7:30-8:30am and 6:00-8:00pm. Could you volunteer one hour of your time to help at the Book Fair? Click here to sign up for your shift. Thank you!

  • "Art Is All Around Us" on May 30th (6-8pm)!
    Don't Miss This Year's Art-themed Family Night
    Imagine spending the evening with the whole family surrounded by art and music! Student art will be mounted on display boards located all around the school grounds. A chalk artist will be creating a masterpiece for us to enjoy on the blacktop and chalk will be available to anyone who wants to make their own chalk art creation. Music performances by each grade will be held at different times during the evening for our musical enjoyment. Bring money if you would like to buy dinner from one of the food trucks (10% of proceeds will be donated to the school) and you can buy books at 50% off list price at the Book Fair in Room B-3. Everything else is free. Stay tuned for performance schedule, but mark your calendar to attend this last school-wide event of the year!

  • School Calendar for 2013-2014
    The La Mesa Spring Valley School District school board approved the district calendar at the April 16th school board meeting. The first day of school for students is August 13. October break is October 7-18. Thanksgiving break is November 25-29. Winter break is December 23-January 3. Spring break is April 7-18. The complete calendar will be posted at www.lmsvsd.org soon.

  • Plans for Next Year Are Underway!
    Already? Absolutely! In order to hold successful activities and events in the fall, the planning starts now by finding people who are organizers/planners. PTA also provides free training, support, and orientations which can be spread over a couple of months to meet your schedule. Serving on the PTA board is a great way to meet parents and teachers AND bring interesting and fun programs to Murdock school. Click here to learn more or to submit your name online.

  • Transitional Kindergarten
    Transitional Kindergarten is now available for the 2013-2014 school year. This is a 2-year kindergarten program with different curriculum for each year. It is for children born between October 1 and December 2, 2008. Transfers will be required for students who do not live in the Murdock attendance area. Registration begins Friday, March 1, 2013.   • Principal Math Test Scores for April! Posted 4/28 On the last Friday of every month, Principal John Ashley will offer his "Principal's Math Test" to students to students in grades 2 through 6. We think this will be a fun and challenging activity and will help students push themselves and be motivated in math. This month's tests have been graded and here are the results. Great job, students!
