Meet the Teacher Profile
Introduction:
Hello! I am a native of San Diego just like my brother, sister, 2 nieces and my nephew. My mom, step-father and step-mother also still live here. I have a dog named Derby, that came to me from Kentucky 9 wonderful years ago. I have been teaching in this district for 21 years, 8 of those here at Fletcher Hills. I have always taught in the primary grades except one year I was a K-5 P.E. teacher.
Education: I received my BA in Liberal Studies from Point Loma Nazarene College. I also hold a Master's Degree in Reading and a Reading Specialist Certificate from San Diego State University.
Hobbies: Besides planning for school, in my downtime I like to go to the beach with Derby, ride my bike, play golf with family and friends, and most of all, play competitive tennis. When there is time I like to cook and try new recipes. Any other extra time is spent with my family having a good time.

Other Interesting Facts: I am a traveler and try to go to a new destination at every opportunity that arises. I have traveled Europe several times, gone to Fiji, New Zealand and Australia. My greatest experience so far has been when I went to Namibia, Africa, with a team of researchers. We slept in a tent for 3 weeks and studied elephants. I can not wait for my next adventure!
